Notes on Prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
We accept either UK pounds or euros. A £200 returnable damage deposit is
required either prior to or on arrival. Prices remain unchanged for 2009.
Changeover Day:
There is no preferred changeover day. We try to be as flexible as possible
to allow you to make the best travel arrangements. Access to the apartment is
between 3pm and 11pm on the day of arrival and please vacate by 11am on day of
departure.

Notes on accommodation:
Please note there is a double sofabed in the lounge area. The apartment has
air conditioning/heating. The terrace and enclosed gardens are ideal for
families with small children as access to the road outside the perimeter fence
can only be gained using the key provided. Sun loungers are provided round the
pool.
Please note however that no lifeguard is present at the pool area. The pedestrian gate locks automatically and there is an electronic gate into
the parking area. Smoking is not permitted inside the apartment and no pets
please. An information folder is provided inside the apartment. In addition to
this apartment, there are a further 4 apartments in the same complex available
for rent. All are 2 bedroom and of a similar layout and furnished to the same
standard.

Patio doors lead out onto a large terrace which overlooks the pool area.
There is a ceramic dining table and chairs, a 2-seater patio sofa and 2
armchairs with a matching coffee table. The swimming pool is shared with 7 other
apartments and has an outdoor shower. There is a shallow platform near the steps
of approx 60cm (2ft) and at the deepest end the pool is approx 183cm (6ft). If
you have children aged 8 or under it is requested that they are accompanied by
an adult at the pool area. An inflatable shallow pool is provided for young
children. There are 4 sunbeds for sole use by our clients. The perimeter fence
of the complex is screened to provide extra privacy for sunbathers.
All beaches in the region are sandy coves most of which offer glass bottom
boat trips and pedalo hire. Cala Gran and Cala Esmerelda beaches are five
minutes walking from the apartment and the small but pretty Cala d'Or beach is
but a few minutes more. Many other beaches and small resorts are easily
reachable via the excellent road train service which operates regularly
throughout the day in the region.
Also local to Cala d'Or is the picturesque national park of "Cala Mondragó" which is great to go exploring or enjoy a day on one of the beautiful beaches.
The
lovely 18-hole Val d'Or golf course is a 10 minute drive away. We believe it is
possible to hire sets of golf clubs and buggies are available. It also has an
excellent restaurant. There are other courses 30 - 40 minutes drive by car.
Palma Airport is 45-50 minutes drive away. Taxi approx 55 euros. Car hire is available from the airport or you can hire in the resort as required but a car is not essential once in the resort. Cycles, scooters and motorcycles can also be hired locally.
Cala Egos is situated on the far side of the Marina, a mere 10 minute drive
from the apartment whilst for those more energetic persons a walk round the
marina to the resort would take approx 50 minutes. The pretty fishing village of
Porto Petro is a 15 minute drive. It has bars and restaurants and a daily boat
trip to Isla de Cabreram, the smallest Balearic island. The old town of Santanyi
is 15 mins drive, Campos 25 mins, both have weekly markets.
The centre of Cala d'Or is little more than a 5 minute stroll away. There
are cocktail bars, pubs, cafes, restaurants, clubs and discos to suit every
taste and budget. It has all the amenities of a modern resort with supermarkets,
a variety of shops, banks, hotels. It is mainly low rise, so as well as the
hustle and bustle you can enjoy quiet plazas, original buildings and churches
and take pleasant strolls through secluded lanes to the local beaches. Here all
types of water sports are provided. Also available locally are many activities
such as golf, tennis, horse riding, cycling. There are many quiet off road
tracks and paths you can explore on foot or by bicycle.
The internationally acclaimed Marina Cala d'Or is just a 15 minute walk away
from the apartment. It has friendly waterside bars and cafes and a choice of
excellent affordable restaurants, serving a selection of international, local
and wonderful seafood dishes. Or you can just sit and watch the less affordable
yachts and cruisers. The local bus service up and along the east coast runs
throughout the day every day, taking in such resorts as; Porto Colom, Porto
Cristo, Cala Bona, Cala Millor. Buses to Palma run several times a day for under
10 Euros and is worth visiting. The excellent local road train service with its
open coaches regularly visits the beautiful beaches of Cala Mondrago, Porto
Petro, Cala Barca and Cala Egos and is the best way to get to know the area.
The markets run throughout the week. We recommend Felanitx market on a Sunday.
It is nearby, cheap to get to and has everything you could possibly want to see
and buy. San Salvadore Monastery is only 15 minutes away by car and also worth a
view. A list of important phone numbers; doctors, taxis, car hire, places to
visit, things to do, are in the information folder in the apartment.
A 30% deposit is required with bookings. Payment by either UK cheque or bank
transfer. On receipt a booking confirmation will be sent to you confirming dates
booked, deposit paid, balance outstanding. The balance is due in full no later
than 6 weeks prior to arrival. A refundable £200 damage deposit is also
required on arrival. If your booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival, full
payment will be required. You can rent by the day if preferred. We will supply
local contact details for key etc.
